Offline billing
Offline billing matters most during rush time. A shop should be able to scan items, print receipts, update stock and close the shift even when broadband, Wi-Fi or cloud services are unavailable.
The billing counter should not wait for a remote server for every sale. Posnic keeps core billing on the local machine.
Offline does not mean blind. Sales, returns, purchase entries and stock movement still need reports after the day closes.
If the business uses Posnic Cloud, local work can sync later. The first responsibility is keeping the shop open.
| Outage scenario | Risk | What to test |
|---|---|---|
| Internet down | Cloud-only billing can block the queue. | Create sales and print receipts with the connection off. |
| Router problem | A local network issue can look like software failure. | Test the counter machine, printer and scanner without cloud access. |
| Power restart | Unsaved bills can create cash confusion. | Restart and verify recent bills, stock and reports. |
| Branch sync delay | Head-office data can lag behind live sales. | Confirm local billing continues and sync catches up later. |
| Support call needed | Staff need a simple fallback process. | Write down sale, return and backup rules before go-live. |
It is billing software that can continue core sales, receipts and local records without a live internet connection.
For a shop counter, offline capability is a safety requirement. Online features are useful, but they should not block local selling.
Yes. The local POS can handle counter work, while Cloud is used for sync, backups and remote dashboards when available.
