Setup sequence

  1. Label printer, scanner and router cables so staff can identify them quickly.

  3. Write down the normal printer name and IP address if network printing is used.
  4. Test scanner input in a simple text field before blaming the POS.
  5. Test cash drawer kick only after receipt printer works.
  6. Record repeated failures so hardware can be replaced before peak hours.

Why does the cash drawer not open?

Usually the receipt printer is offline, the drawer cable is loose or the drawer trigger setting is wrong.

Why does the scanner type wrong characters?

Should a small shop keep spare hardware?
