Choose Demo or Local Install
Start with the browser demo when you only need to learn screen names and the shape of the workflow. Treat all demo data as disposable.
Use a local installer when you need to test the exact computer, printer, scanner, cashier routine, tax setup, backup path and day close that the shop will actually use.
- Do not enter real customer, payment, tax or supplier data in the public demo.
- Repeat every accepted demo step in a local install before production.
- Keep the package name, version and operating system in the shop setup record.
Install and Start
The packaged Posnic app brings its own local runtime and database path. A cashier should not need to install a separate database or web server for normal local use.
- Download Posnic from the official download page for the computer operating system.
- Run the installer or portable package using the shop owner account policy.
- Allow first launch to finish creating local app data and database files.
- If the operating system asks for confirmation, verify the package source before allowing it.
- When the login or first-run wizard appears, stop and enter approved shop details instead of temporary live values.
Complete First-Run Setup
First-run setup is not just a technical step. It creates names, defaults and controls that later appear on receipts, reports and staff screens.
- Use the exact shop name and receipt address approved by the business owner.
- Create an administrator login that is not shared by all staff.
- Choose currency and tax defaults only after the accountant or owner has approved them.
- Create the first branch or outlet with the name staff will recognize.
- Open the dashboard and confirm that New Sale, Sales History, Daily Report, Items and Add Item are visible for the administrator.
