Roster planningLive Posnic demo reviewed 2026-09-04. Managers review a range and add one staff/date/start/end entry at a time.

Enable Roster Planning

  1. Enable Workforce under Manage -> Features and save.
  2. Open Manage -> Workforce.
  3. Turn on Roster and save the feature configuration.
  4. Reload Workforce if the Roster tab does not appear immediately.
  5. Confirm all schedulable people already exist as active employees.

Review a Date Range

  1. Open the Roster tab.
  2. Choose From and To dates for the period being planned.
  3. Click Show.
  4. Review Staff, Date, Start, End and calculated Hours.
  5. Check for overlapping entries, missing days and the wrong employee before adding more.

Plan One Shift

  1. Under Plan a shift, select the employee.
  2. Choose the work date.
  3. Enter the planned start time and end time.
  4. Click Add and wait for the success message.
  5. Confirm the new row appears in the selected range.
  6. Tell the employee to check the read-only roster from the header clock.

Split and Overnight Shifts

  • Represent a split shift as two entries on the same date, for example 09:00-13:00 and 17:00-21:00.
  • Do not use one long entry when the employee is not working through the gap.
  • For overnight work, confirm the application's accepted date/time convention with a test before publishing the roster.
  • Scheduled hours are planning evidence; worked hours still come from clock-in and clock-out.

Correct a Roster Entry

The manager table provides a remove action for each scheduled entry. Remove the incorrect row, then add the corrected shift; confirm the employee's weekly view reflects the change.

  • Do not delete a correct entry simply because attendance differed.
  • Make roster corrections before payroll review so scheduled-versus-worked comparisons stay meaningful.
  • Keep staff informed when a published schedule changes.
