Audit Item Tax Rates with GST 2.0 Readiness

GST 2.0 Readiness is a catalog review tool. It identifies possible tax-rate problems but never changes items or proves that a return is ready to file.

What the Scan Checks

ResultMeaningRequired action
Withdrawn slabAn item still uses a rate identified by the readiness reference as withdrawn.Verify the effective date and replacement rate before editing the item.
HSN differenceThe item's current rate differs from the rate associated with its HSN reference.Check the HSN, item description and official treatment; a difference is not automatically an error.
No rowThe scan did not flag the item under these two checks.Continue normal invoice and return reconciliation; this is not a filing approval.

Run and Assign the Audit

  1. Open Reports -> Money -> GST 2.0 Readiness.
  2. Click Scan items and wait for both result tables to refresh.
  3. Review item name, SKU or barcode, HSN, current rate and suggested/reference rate.
  4. Click CSV when the catalog review needs to be assigned or retained as evidence.
  5. Have the owner or accountant approve each actual change.
  6. Open the item record separately, correct the HSN or tax assignment and save.
  7. Run Scan items again and retain the before/after review evidence.

Do Not Bulk-Change Blindly

  • The page is read-only and intentionally does not rewrite item tax rates.
  • A reference mismatch can be legitimate because product classification, packaging, supply type or effective date differs.
  • Existing invoices must retain their historical tax evidence; changing an item affects future transactions.
  • Verify tax-inclusive pricing after a rate change so the selling price and margin remain intentional.
  • Test one normal sale, return and receipt after approved catalog changes.
